Shelley Johnson, CPA
Shelley is a 1985 graduate of Purdue University, with a 1989 post baccalaureate certificate in accounting from Indiana University Northwest. Prior to joining a local Indianapolis based public accounting firm of in 1990, she served for three years as assistant controller of a regional motel chain located in northwest Indiana.
In 1995 Bruce Allman, CPA asked her to join him in forming Allman & Company. Combined with a staff of 4 para-professionals, they serve a large number of commercial business clients, several non-profit organizations as well as a substantial number of individual clients with all aspects of accounting, tax and planning needs.
Shelley was recently appointed by the Governor to serve on the Indiana Board of Accountancy. Other professional activities include the Indiana CPA Society where Shelley has chaired the Audit and Accounting Committee, served on the Federal Tax Committee and the Vision Task Force. She is also a past president of the Indianapolis Chapter of the American Society of Women Accountants and co-chaired the 1998 Area Conference Committee and 1999 Nominations Committee and served as a trustee for the Chapter’s Scholarship Trusts.
From 1994 to 2000 Shelley served on the Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership Board of Directors as a Mayoral appointment and Treasurer. She continued to serve on the INHP finance committee three additional years. She is also a graduate of SKL Class XXII and currently serves on the Lacy Leadership Board of Directors as Treasurer. Other responsibilities have included serving as the Treasurer for Bethel United Methodist Church.
Married for almost 25 years and the mother of three children and two cats, spare time is consumed by family logistics.
